Well, after the contest organized by the Tuna in which 7 tunas gathered from all over the Spanish geography and which has helped us to meet new people and keep an unforgettable experience for the new generation of Tuna, we return to normal, back to testing on Thursdays from 21:30 in the multipurpose room of Building B-1 (Rector), we return to work on new repertoire, we turn out every Thursday from bars and taverns Jaén, we return to haunt, back to sing, we return to our city.

In short, we can only say THANK YOU to all attendees, rogues, sponsors, partners and all the people who made this event possible. And of course, thanks also to all those girls, mothers, bartenders, novices, and anyone who tunosaurios make this tuna go ahead with more hope than ever.

The First Contest “City of Villacarrillo” cancels

The First Contest “City of Villacarrillo” has been suspended at the last minute because of financial difficulties by the Hon. City Council Villacarrillo. According to direct news of the Villacarrillo City Council, the contest will be postponed to another date that we can tackle this event with complete fluency and enjoy the atmosphere in this town jiennense student who, for many years, has received the Tuna Universitaria de Distrito de Jaén with open arms and always with a very good acceptance among its neighbors.

We hope everything will be resolved as soon as possible and with good policies.

On behalf of the Organization of the Tuna Universitaria de Distrito de Jaén, we apologize for any inconvenience caused at the last minute Tunas both the participants and any person who was to attend the contest as a presenter / a, jury contest, broadcast the same, and so on.

VI National Contest of University and District “Tunas”

The weekend of 12 and 13 March, the “Tuna Universitaria de Distrito de Jaén” organizing a National Contest “Tunas” University and District; Contest as part of a circuit that encompasses almost all Tunas University and District of geography Spanish and sometimes Portuguese.

Over 250 “tunos” will invade the city of the Holy Kingdom with the aim of encouraging and “color” of a very special way streets and squares of the city of Jaen, with music, fun and mischievous feature of tuna for many centuries in our country.

This contest will be the sixth edition and will have a very entertaining program of events and characteristic for the enjoyment of Jaen,”tunil” giving life to the city of Jaen, morning, noon and night for that weekend.

The National Circuit and District University Tunas, emerges in the academic year 2005 – 2006 at the initiative of various tunas University of Spain, the image and likeness of tunas circuits of certain races, as in the example of the National Circuit of Tunas Law, Medicine, Pharmacy, Technical Engineering, Science, Teaching, etc … some of them over the age of 25 years, and involving only those powers Tunas.

The record to date is as follows:

I Nacional. Held in Leganés (Madrid).
Organized by the Tuna of the University Carlos III of Madrid.
(November 2005).

II National Contest. Held in Palma de Mallorca.
Organized by the Tuna of the University of the Balearic Islands.
(May 2006).

III National Competition. Held in Cadiz.
Organized by the Tuna Universitaria de Barcelona.
(May 2007).

IV National Competition. Held in Santander.
Organized by the Tuna Universitaria de Santander.
(November 2008).

V National Competition. Held in Plasencia (Cáceres).
Organized by the Tuna Universitaria de Plasencia.
(March 2009).

We hope that this VI Certamen, Jaen city and its people enjoy and share this event with over 250 “tunos” who will occupy the city, as in other previous elections has happened.

I Contest "City of Villacarrillo" (March 5 & 6)

For the first time the town of Jaen Villacarrillo, near to “Peter Gil´s Tower” (Torreperogil), host a National Contest of “Tunas”.

The initiative, run by the City Council Villacarrillo and of the University Tuna of District of Jaen, is due to the magnificent reception that the people of Villacarrillo always has given the Tuna de Jaén over many years.
During a weekend in the spirit of the Tuna-music, joy and humor-filled streets Villacarrillo, with the participation of five prestigious tunas coming from different places in Spain to give away to neighbors for a weekend to remember.

On 5 and 6 March you can enjoy the following Tunas University in the street and in the theater:

Tuna del Colegio Mayor Loyola, Granada.

Tuna de Arquitectura Técnica de Granada.

Tuna Universitaria de Salamanca.

The Tuna will begin its tests from next 16th of February.

Every Tuesday and Thursday you will find the Tuna to the back of the building B.1 (Rectory) in the multipurpose room.

No need to know to play any instruments. Simply put the desire to learn and fun time.

The “Tuna” sings in the hospital

Every year, the Tuna Universitaria de Distrito de Jaén, the 5th of January, after the cavalcade of the Magi
visit children who, unfortunately, are ill at this time as indicated, and the women who, as a gift of kings, have given birth to a child those days. All this accompanied by Their Majesties the Kings of the East who will deliver gifts to all these children and women.
